Thankful
“in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” -1 Thess. 5:18

18. That I have a free will… and that I can choose to obey and be full of trust and joy, and to not do things out of begrudging obligation or habit.
17. Breakfast with friends before church.
16. A hard day at work. Because… I wouldn’t want a job that was easy. I’m thankful for the grace to stay strong and patient during the stressful situations, and come through to an ok ending. And that I know what unconditional love is like.. so I can offer it to someone else.
15. That Jesus is the light of the world. And for me, personally, the light of my world.
14. The way Christmas always explodes where I live… paper chain and 3D snowflake making, tree decorating, hot chocolate drinking, reindeer-antlers wearing, and other antics.
13. Weekends! Time with roommates & family & friends… lots of laughing! Nice to have a break.
12. Free cupcakes at Jones Bros. that I have enjoyed very much lately… with my fun roommates and my dear Mrs. J!
11. For the thought of warm smiles on children’s faces, warm weather, blue ocean, sunny days and new adventures to look forward to… a week ministering in Jamaica is definitely a bright spot to look forward to in an otherwise gloomy and cold Omaha winter!
10. That I’m not in school right now… I am having enough trouble just keeping up with all the random stuff I need to juggle… and yet, I did a lot of the same things back when I was in school. How did I do it?? Anyway, thankful for help and strength to stay diligent with things I need to do..
9. For my job… it is so, so amazing to be able to do what I do every day. It is a great fit for me. I can’t quite come up with any other words to summarize it… it is just wonderful, and I’m so thankful that God led me to work with HomeInstead Senior Care a year ago this month!
8. Brothers… and how no matter how long or short a time it’s been since we’ve seen each other, we have so much anticipation and excitement built up.. the first few hours/days we are all together again are always INSANE!
7. For all that God gives… freedom, wisdom, strength, peace, grace, more grace, life, breath, food, everything else I need.
6. That I understand… a bittersweet bonus from past pain, being able to pass on comfort I myself received from God during that time.
5. The last days of sunshiney nice fall weather.
4. My lovely job, where relaxing in a park on a beautiful day with enjoyable company is perfectly encouraged (Mrs. J loves to take pictures).

2. The pause after the “goodbye, have a good rest of the day,” followed by my dear difficult client asking when I’ll be back next.
1. Freedom in Christ… not being motivated by guilt.
